Mission The mission of Maple Leaf Farm is to help men and women recover from alcohol and drug addiction.
We understand the power of alcohol and drug addiction to destroy the lives of individuals and their families. We are committed to providing medical detoxification and residential treatment and support services of the highest quality to help our patients find recovery.
We will do whatever it takes to help our patients reach this goal. And we will never give up.
Philosophy Chemical addiction is a chronic, life threatening disease which creates physical, mental and spiritual problems. By treating it as such, we at Maple Leaf Farm feel that the quality of life of those affected can increase dramatically. At Maple Leaf, the recovery of a chemical-free life is not merely a lofty aspiration, but an achievable goal, one that we help people attain every day.
The effect is on the whole person's lifestyle - personal, interpersonal (social), family, employment and recreation. The following statistics reflect the prevalence of addiction in our society and its effects:
One out of 10 persons is affected, each of which impacts the lives of an average of two or three others.
Over 100,000 addiction-related deaths occur annually.(Conservatively estimated)
Addiction represents an economic cost of over $120 billion annually.
Approximately 50% of all hospitalized patients have substance abuse related illness or problems.
The disease can be arrested only by total abstinence from all mood altering chemicals. The quality of life of those recovering can be radically improved by the positive changes in attitude and lifestyle that the skilled counselors and staff at Maple Leaf can help teach and foster.
Maple Leaf Farm's treatment model is based on:
Total abstinence. Years of experience and success have shown that this is the only reliable path to sustained recovery and happiness.
Becoming comfortable with NO alcohol and drugs. This doesn't mean becoming uncomfortable with your life. We can guide patients toward a full life that excludes mood-altering chemicals.
Personal Growth. Personal growth treatment plans are based on the premise that each individual has dignity, worth and the right to recover. Recovery means growth, not stagnation or boredom.
Family Disease Concept. If possible, we strive to include a patient's most personal relationships - the family - into our treatment.
Twelve Step Recovery Program. Probably the most successful approach to recovery used, the Twelve Step program has helped many patients lead a fulfilling, chemical-free life.
Active Involvement and interaction between patients and our skilled multidisciplinary professional staff. Our experienced staff has the background as well as the diversity to help nearly everyone.
